Presentation by Mark Brown of Brown/Meshul regarding the proposed zone change for a new Bodies In Motion gym at the Galaxy Project.

Mark Brown presented the CIM proposal for a new gym to be located on the second level of the Galaxy project at 7021 Hollywood Boulevard. This gym would replace the general Cinema theaters on the second floor. The concept is to open up the covered windows on the second floor to allow the conversion of the theater boxes to retail space. The owner of the proposed Bodies In Motion Gym and his architect presented the floor plan, design concepts, and the finish selections. The finishes are proposed to be very modern and high quality. The gum concept is based on a schedule of classes for the members that involve the members in the exercise routine in different ways. The Bodies in Motion has numerous locations in the Valley and West LA. A zone change is necessary to allow the gym use in such a retail zoning classification. The Committee thought that this was a good new use for the space on the Boulevard. It was noted that the hours would be 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. Potential membership may total 5,000 members. The Galaxy has more that adequate parking for such a use.

The Committee voted 5-0 to support the zone change.

New Business: There was no new business.
