The overhead signs indicating the time-limit and parking meters hours of operation in the Hollywood/Vine Parking Meter Zone, (Parking Meter Zone 546) in your area will be posted beginning Saturday, March 28, 2009. This work will continue on weekends through April 12, 2009, when posting of 500 signs is scheduled to be completed.
The boundaries for PMZ 546 include Franklin Ave to the north, Gower St to the east, north of Sunset Boulevard to the south, and La Brea Ave to the west. The core of this parking meter zone (PMZ) is Hollywood Boulevard. Meters can also be found on almost all the feeder streets and on parallel streets to the north and south of Hollywood Boulevard within the boundaries. A map of the PMZ is attached for reference. The meter hours for this PMZ is generally "8 AM to 8 PM Monday thru Thursday; 8 AM to Midnight Friday & Saturday; 11 AM to 8 PM Sunday". Variations from these hours are planned, in observance of Peak Hour restrictions, valet services, religious services, etc.
The meter rate and hours changes were approved by the City Council in July 2008. The Department of Transportation has been implementing these changes throughout the City since they became effective in September 2008.
Parking Enforcement will continue to enforce the existing meter hours of operation until such time when the new overhead signs are installed.
