MAYOR LAUNCHES CITY OF LOS ANGELES CENSUS 2010 INITIATIVES

Dear friends, colleagues, supporters,

We have officially launched our Census 2010 campaign for the City of Los Angeles! I look forward to a year of collaboration and partnership to ensure that each of our residents are counted. An accurate Census count is critical - since the last Census, the City lost over $200 million. With the current economic situation, our communities need that money more than ever, and we can't do it alone. We are calling on everyone to work with us for the next 12 months to ensure that we educate people about the Census and get the word out to ensure a full and complete count in March-April 2010.

In the coming weeks, we will have our website fully functional www.lacounts2010.org. We will establish the Mayor's Volunteer Corps to mobilize and educate our residents. We urge you to please help us spread the word and get involved.

- Start your own Complete Count Committee
- Become a volunteer
- Organize people in your community
- Help us Cyber-organize There's so much that can be done, and there's room for creativity and room for EVERYONE. Stay tuned...
