Have you enjoyed your area?

Area 3 Yucca/Whitley Committee

Have you enjoyed your area to the fullest? You'd be amazed at what is out there for not only tourists, but for residents to see. Pick any given Sunday to stroll through the area and you will find a bit of history on your walk from the historic Whitley Heights up above Franklin to the Montecito below.

Just take a stroll on the north side of Hollywood Boulevard and you will be amazed at the amount of activity on the boulevard starting at Whitley on a Sunday night. With various restaurants from the Venice Pizzeria to Kino Sushi to Famima, there are different tastes and cultures for you to explore.

East of Whitley, it is a little on the quite side, but with the newest hotspot in Hollywood- The Colony, we hope to see a little bit more activty. Not to say there isn't any, as you have the Hollywood PAL karate school and several mom and pop type shops along the way.

We can be proud that we live in an area unlike any other, where tourists and locals mingle and enjoy each other's company. For instance every Sunday, like clockwork McCadden is lined with exotic cars that tourists love taking pictures of.

If the whole tourist thing is not your cup of tea, try Aubrey's Cafe on Las Palmas and Hollywood. It offers various types of coffee and teas as well as serving quality meals at an affordable price.

If you need a place to hang out and relax, whether you are below 55 or above, go to the Yucca Community Park located at 6671 Yucca street where they have activities for young and young at heart alike.

If you have not been in the area for atleast a year or so you will notice a lot of construction going on as new multi use projects are going up. As I said, there is a lot to see in our area and I hope you take the time to go out and enjoy it.
