3315 N. Cahuenga Blvd. (site of the Oak Crest Market)
Global Cuisine has applied to renovate the facade and the interior of the building as well as for approval of a change of use. Global Cuisine wants to change the use from retail to a restaurant for a portion of the building. There also will be an application for a conditional use permit to sell beer and wine (and/or alcoholic beverages) for on site consumption as well as off site consumption, but that application isn’t yet filed.
Global Cuisine operates as a catering/special events company at 1041 N. Formosa in West Hollywood, which is just south of HHWNC’s area 7. It wants to operate this new market/restaurant business in the Cahuenga Pass area. John Hamilton of Hamilton Architects is the applicant’s representative and contact for additional information. He may be reached at (310) 398-1500 and jph@hamiltonarchitects. net.
The Planning Dept.’s case no. is DIR 2013-2507. The site is subject to the Ventura/Cahuenga Blvd. Corridor Specific Plan, but not to the Mulholland Specific Plan according to the Planning Dept.’s Jennifer Driver.

Some concerns have been raised with regard to the parking plan/arrangements for this site, and we look forward to hearing more about the applicant’s plan for this site at the HHWNC PLUM committee’s next meeting, which is scheduled for Sept. 11, 2013 at The Durant Public Library branch from 5:30 to 7:50 pm.  The pdf attacmhed below is a copy of the Planning Dept.’s letter approving the proposed project, with some conditions, under the Ventura/Cahuenga Specific Plan, which is dated February 4, 2014.
