Dockless electric scooters began appearing on the streets of LA in 2017. In December 2018, LADOT launched the One Year Dockless On-Demand Personal Mobility Permit to better understand the implications of dockless technology on the city and its citizens. The foothills of the Hollywood Hills West Neighborhood now have an abundance of dockless scooters and they now reach all the way to Mulholland. For those looking to get some exercise in while engaged in dockless mobility, there are also dockless bicycles, which do not have appeared to reach Mulholland, yet. Citywide, dockless mobility trips have grown from just over 340,000 in April to nearly 1,150,000 in September.
