Area 6 is a residential community – renters, co-op owners, homeowners – located on the south facing slopes of three canyons in the Santa Monica Mountain range: Nichols Canyon, Curson and Runyon Canyon. There are two city parks, two churches, one community garden, and one landmark-status estate in Area 6. Their relationship to the hills is what joins these stakeholders. Indeed the hills are felt to be the largest single stakeholder. The issues we consider are the impact of park management policies, road maintenance, construction, and individual safety.
